Thank you for your interest in the Meramec Hills Chapter of the Master Naturalist program.

The Missouri Master Naturalist program is a community-based, adult natural resource education and volunteer program.  The program is co-sponsored by the Missouri Department of Conservation and University Extension.  To become a certified Master Naturalist, you will complete 40 hours of instruction, 8 hours of advanced training, and provide 40 hours of natural resource-based volunteer service within a 15 month period.  Certified status is maintained by completing 40 hours of service and 8 hours of advanced training each year.  We ask that you commit to the volunteer service in order to receive the training.

Training for the Meramec Hills Chapter begins September 10, 2009 and will run to November 19.  In addition, there will be three Saturday field sessions (See Class Schedule).  The classes will be held on Thursdays from 6:00-8:30 at Webster University’s Rolla Campus.  You must be 18 or older to enroll.  Enclosed is an enrollment form for the upcoming training, and we will begin taking enrollments on July 8, 2009.  The completed form, and a $100 enrollment fee should be returned to Phelps County Extension, 200 N Main, Rolla, MO 65401.  Please note, we will be accepting only twenty-five participants in the class, and enrollment will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
