Programs
for Kids 8- to-12-years-old Each Monday in June at Bray Conservation Area
Each
Monday in June, from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm, there be a program for kids entering
grades 3-6. Activities involve hikes, crafts, reading a book,
hands-on-activities. Connie needs help with ideas in planning and also
volunteers to help guide the students on the day of the program. Following are
the dates and topics:
June 2: Soils
June 9: Pond investigation
June 16: Mammals
June 23: Reptiles and Amphibians
June 30: Birds

The
Ozark Natural & Cultural Resource Center in Salem will host a
"20th-Century Life in the Ozarks" exhibit. Docents are needed
for the event. Call 573-729-0029 for more information.

Conservation Area, 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Help with activities for kids
8-to-12-years-old. Focus in on "Soils" for this program.

5 (Thursday)
Bray
Conservation Area, 9:00 am - 2:00 pm. Connie needs one helper for a hike
or talk on mammals for twenth 2nd graders. Contact Connie if you are

Workday
at Bray Conservation Area, 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm. The following projects will
be worked on:
Building a display framework for the "Bark On"
tree ID boards
Creating the crawl-through tunnel in the preschool area
Laying the stone floor in the preschool art area
Putting up signs
Planting the remaining natives and weeding the bed
Painting the garage classroom walls
Reviewing the Tree Trail brochure
Bring
work gloves.

Workshop
on Birding and Bird Identification has been cancelled .

8 (Sunday)
Family
Day at Camp Brimshire, beginning at 1:00 pm; dinner at 6:00 pm. This is a
family affair. Spouses, children, and grandchildren are included.
There will be fun learning activities for the kids. The pool will be
open. The chapter will provide hamburgers and hot dogs for the dinner;
those attending are asked to bring a covered dish to share.
Members
need to let Rich know by June 1 if they plan to attend and how many guests they
are bringing.

natural world. Bonebrake Center, Salem, 6:30 pm. Bonebrake director,

and OK Kids (Ozark Connection for Kids) director, Jamin Bray, is organizing the
event. Help is needed for the multiple learning stations about nature and
