MAY EVENTS

 

May 6 and 7 (Tuesday and Wednesday)

Ecology Days at Bray Conservation Area - Rolla Middle School 6th grade class.  This is the first year they have come to Bray.  We want to make this a good one.  The more help, the better!

May 14 (Wednesday)

Board meeting at Bray Conservation Area, 6:00 pm.  The meeting will include committee reports and concerns, discussion of meeting locations/attendance,  informational stations for the June 8th social at Camp Brimshire, and any other topics members want addressed. Contact Kathy Walker if you want a topic added to the agenda.

 

May 14 (Wednesday)

Bray Conservation Area, 5:00 pm.  Preceding the board meeting, members are asked to come and help put together the display for the State Conference.  All interested chapter members are welcome.

 

May 16 (Friday)

Workday at Bray Conservation Area, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm.  We will be working on pods for preschool children.  Wear work gloves.  For more information, contact Carol Mahan at 573-368-2590, ext. 29 or

State Convention Missouri Master Naturalists, Springfield. 

 

There will be no regular monthly meeting of our chapter in May

 

JUNE EVENTS

June 6 (Friday)

Workday at Bray Conservation Area, 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm.  We will be finishing on pods for preschool children.

June 7 (Saturday)

Workshop on Birding and Bird Identification, with Lorraine McFarland, 7:00 am - 11:30 am.

Meet at Tanager Trails (Rolla) at 7:00 am.  Learn about the basics of birding and bird identification, followed by birding at Little Prairie Lake and/or Lane Spring (both have facilities).  Advanced birders are also encouraged to attend.

Participants should bring binoculars, field guides, and notepad.  This is a field session - no indoor classroom activities.  Dress for the field.  Light snacks will be provided.

June 8 (Sunday)

Family Day at Camp Brimshire, beginning at 1:00 pm; dinner at 6:00 pm.  This is a family affair.  Spouses, children, and grandchildren are included.  There will be fun learning activities for the kids.  The pool will be open.  The chapter will provide hamburgers and hot dogs for the dinner; those attending are asked to bring a covered dish to share.

Members need to let Rich know by June 1 if they plan to attend and how many guests they are bringing.
