Harry S. Truman Outdoor Kids Club
Harry S. Truman Elementary School is one of three elementary (K -4) schools in Rolla. Located at 1001 East 18th St. there are 21 classes totaling about 400 students.
Outdoor Kids Club---ODK: Meet after school most Wednesdays. Two second grade, one third, and one fourth grade group meet on a rotating schedule. As they do specific projects they may need a few adults with nature skills, i.e. making a square foot garden, compost bin, planting trees, etc. If interested let the liaison know and you will be called as the projects come up.
Volunteers participate in Class Projects presenting programs or assisting teachers with nature programs. Recent programs have included spiders (5 classes), tree products (4 classes), frogs & toads (19 classes), worm composting (1 class), feathers (11 classes), seeds in various soils (1 class). If interested in classroom programs let liaison know and you will be notified as the programs come up. (Requests may come from various teachers for an individual class or group of classes; i.e. 4th grades.)
