Discover Nature Families Program (Bray Conservation Area)

Discover Nature Family Programs are held on the First & Third Tuesdays of the month. The 1st Tuesday is for anyone age 7 and older and is held from 6-7 pm. The 3rd Tuesday is for children ages 3 to 7 with an adult and there are two sessions offered. They are from 10:30-11:30 am and 6-7 pm. Activities include an information session, games, and crafts.

Topics for the Fall include:

August : Butterflies
September: Hummingbirds
October : Spiders
November: Nuts & seeds
December: Winter Wonders

Nature Explorers (Bray Conservation Area)

Nature Explorers is open to 7-15 year olds who are curious about nature. Sessions are held on the first Saturday of each month from 10 am - 12 noon. Each month new activities are provided onsite with additional projects for them to do at home.

August 1 (Sunday)

Big Piney Tie Rafters Water Quality Monitoring and River Clean-up

Event Description: We will meet at Six Crossings river access at 9 AM, and spend about 6 hours on the river. Summer VWQM is chemical testing only. Please bring lunch, drink, and sunscreen. Wear shoes and clothes to get wet in, and a hat! You will need a boat or kayak.

Event Location: Big Piney River - Six Crossings to Ross Access

Event Time: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Bray Conservation Area

Event Description: Help with 20 pre- kindergarten and kindergarteners as they discover nature.

Event Time: 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

Bray Conservation Area

Event Description: A group of seven students will be out to learn about nature, including learning to fish.
